We are looking to start a Mindfulness of Food Recovery group that will double as both a mindfulness practice and food recovery support group. The group will have structured meetings weekly to provide a space and community to practice being aware and present of our harmful and helpful habits with food, explore mindfulness and meditation practices, share how our recovery is going and share issues we’re having in everyday life as it relates to our relationship with food. It will borrow methods from 12-step programs (e.g. OA, Refuge Recovery) and Mindfulness community support groups. The intention is to provide a space to deepen our understanding that we are not alone in our addiction(s), foster relationships with each other and create genuine healing through community. All our informal self help groups/community gatherings have a suggested donation of $3 per person, but no one turned away. You are more important than your money. We hope to see you there ?
