Local Organizations to Host Second
Flagler Votes Hob Nob with 2018 Candidates
Palm Coast, FL –The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, the Flagler County Association of Realtors and the Flagler Home Builders Association are once again teaming up to host a Flagler Votes Hob Nob before the August 2018 primary election. This nonpartisan event will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City of Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE, Palm Coast, FL.
The Flagler Hob Nob will be similar to an old fashioned political rally with an expectation of at least 400 guests attending. The purpose of Hob Nob is to give Chamber members and local residents an opportunity to meet with candidates and representatives from their campaigns on a one-to-one basis. The Chamber will invite all candidates appearing on the 2018 ballots to rent tabletop space for $150. Candidates will be assigned tables on a first come first served basis.
Admission is free to the public. A food truck will be onsite and soft drinks, beer and wine will be available for a nominal cash donation. Attendees have an opportunity to meet with candidates and participate in a “straw poll” that will include candidates in both the primary and general elections. The results will be revealed at the end of the event.
Proceeds will support Chamber voter education and government affairs initiatives, including the organization’s 2019 Flagler Volusia Public Leadership Institute (FVPLI). An educational program for prospective undeclared candidates, FVPLI graduated its second class of 15 potential candidate and campaign workers in September 2017. One of the 15 individuals who completed the program was elected unopposed to the City of Flagler Beach commission. Five are running for positions, and two others are involved in local campaigns.
